About What's On

What's On is a free local guide to events, clubs, activities and things to do. It's published by What's On (whats-on.group), starting with What's On Ayrshire, and funded by clearly labelled local sponsorship.

What we do

We collect what's happening in each area from the people who run it: venues, clubs, charities, community groups and local businesses. We check the details, write a short, factual listing and publish it on the site and in a free weekly newsletter.

How events get listed

Organisers send us the facts using the submission form, by email or by phone. They don't need to write anything polished. Every submission is kept exactly as it arrived, and an editor reviews listings before they go live. Sending something in doesn't guarantee it will be published. Our editorial policy explains how we decide.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong, use the "Report an update" link on the event page, or reply to any email from us. Corrections go to an editor, and we aim to fix confirmed errors the same day.

Sponsorship

What's On is free for readers and for organisers. It's paid for by a small number of local sponsors. Sponsored placements are always labelled "Sponsored". Sponsors can't buy or change editorial listings.
